Pair ‘pummelled’ barman in attack

A barman was “pummelled” in a sickening attack in full view of security cameras after refusing to serve a drunk thug.


Lee Cass, 19, punched and kicked his victim after going behind the bar of the Red Lion, in Heckmondwike, and helping himself to bottles of alcohol from a fridge despite being asked to leave.

As the barman tried to stop him stealing the booze, Cass swung punches at him, knocking him to the floor of the bar and stamping on him in full view of customers.

Cass’s friend Jamie Metcalfe, 19, was then shown briefly joining in the attack before taking £107 from the till.
